NIL enhances its automation portfolio and enables telecom operators and large enterprises to further cut operational costs and increase service delivery velocity.
In June 2014 NIL joined the Tail-f Systems partner program to help them bring their flagship Network Control System (NCS) solution to customers in the field. Tail-f Systems, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, is a SDN pioneer and a global authority in NETCONF/YANG-based automation solutions. The NCS solution allows service providers and large enterprises to dramatically optimize and accelerate new service provisioning from months to weeks or even days. NCS is a multi-vendor network and infrastructure service orchestrator, with unique high-assurance capabilities based on its innovative transactional provisioning model.
“We are excited to partner with NIL, a leader in service orchestration solutions for service provider and enterprise environments. We see a perfect fit between our core technology and NIL’s service delivery competencies, and look forward to working on many joint projects in the future.”
Fredrik Lundberg, CEO, Tail-f
NIL will adopt NCS technology to extend the capabilities of their own programmable infrastructure platform (Flip IT Framework), enhance their cloud solutions (Flip IT, Flex IT and HyperCenter) and provide turnkey custom NCS-based solutions to service providers and enterprises.
“NIL has been developing SDN solutions since 1999, when we started offering our Remote Labs solution worldwide. By joining forces with Tail-F, we are setting completely new standards for service orchestration in large service provider and enterprise networks, where operational cost optimization and service velocity are key business drivers.”
Jan Bervar, Chief Technology Officer, NIL
NIL’s intuition for smart ecosystem building was confirmed later in June when Cisco Systems announced their intent to acquire Tail-f Systems (video).
