Conscia acquires two German ICT companies – the system house ethcon and consulting specialist lifecon

Conscia Germany/xevIT, a leading IT specialist in networking, cyber security, datacenter and cloud providing secure infrastructure solutions and 24-7 managed services, acquires the two German ICT companies, ethcon and lifecon. The acquisition strengthens the core portfolio of Conscia’s products and services as well as IT consulting know-how and adds scale to accelerate growth in the German market. It is the second and third acquisition from Conscia Group this year.

Conscia Germany/xevIT is a Cisco Gold Partner with a focus on complex network, communication and security solutions for customers in the public sector as well as large and medium-sized companies in financial services and healthcare sector. Its high-quality managed service offerings help customers operate their communication and complex network infrastructure securely. The company operates from offices in Ettlingen and Leverkusen.

“We invest in strengthening our market position and further build our core portfolio of products and services as part of our strategy to accelerate growth through increased customer value for companies operating in the German market. Other acquisitions of suitable companies are also being considered to supplement organic growth and secure a healthy expansion in both our business segments Services and Solutions,” says CEO Erik Bertman, Conscia Group.

Following the acquisitions of ethcon and lifecon Conscia expands its German organization as of 1 August 2023 with more than 40% adding around 50 IT professionals to the 120 IT and administrative specialists in Conscia Germany/xevIT. The specialists will be integrated into the Conscia Group consolidating its Network of Knowledge with around 1.000 people in Europe. Conscia Germany/xevIT and ethcon will operate under the Conscia Germany brand from October 2023, whereas lifecon will continue under its present name as an independent consulting company.

“We are delighted to welcome ethcon and lifecon to the Conscia family in praise of the competences in collaboration and network infrastructure, IT consulting know-how and Cisco expertise they bring to the table,” says Sven Heinsen, General Manager Conscia Germany/xevIT.

The two companies ethcon and lifecon are sister companies but managed separately from joint offices in Hanover and Munich. ethcon is a highly specialized system house and solution provider for IT and telecommunications operating throughout Germany. ethcon as a Cisco Gold Partner offers its customers high-quality consulting expertise, hardware and software from market leaders as well as a solution-oriented project approach from consulting to installation and support. The company was founded in 2009 and employs around 25 people.

lifecon is a specialist in ICT consulting. With a team of experts and a network of more than 1,300 qualified, external ICT specialists, lifecon offers its customers a wide range of ICT consulting services – from conducting workshops and as-is assessments to coordination and technical project management. The company was founded in 2009 and employs around 25 people.

“Conscia Group has a strong growth profile, and we have built a European IT specialist with a solid track record of being perceived as a beneficial acquirer. During recent years we have demonstrated double digit organic growth rates and before that successfully executed 14 acquisitions since 2013,” says Erik Bertman.

The acquisitions in Germany follow an investment in the Scandinavian market earlier this May, when Conscia Sweden acquired the Swedish top specialist in automation Miradot. Miradot accelerates digital transformation for large service providers and financial organizations, among others by automating infrastructure in cloud, data center, network, security, to a self-developed framework. Conscia Group is owned by the private equity investor Nordic Capital.

Financial details from the transaction are not disclosed.
